I started CrossFit in 2016 after I wanted to change up my workout routine, which was hours of running and then spending another hour or more in 24 Hour Fitness not really knowing what to do.

I had a friend invite me to her gym and I fell in love. It was a combination of the community and the challenge that made me feel successful and stronger.

Things did not come easily for me in the gym, in fact a lot didn’t. It took me more than a year to be able to squat below parallel and I had almost NO experience with lifting weight. I was used to long distance trail running and wandering around 24 Hour Fitness pretending to know what to do. The support that I received from the community is what made me feel like I could do anything. So I kept at it and now back squats are one of my favorite movements.

I’m also living out my childhood dream of doing gymnastics. Pulling my entire body weight and going upside down is not something I take for granted in my mid-30’s! Again, it took me years to feel safe enough to go upside down. Facing my fears in the gym gave me the confidence to face fears in other parts of my life and is the reason I’m now a coach.

I love helping people apply what they learn in the gym to their daily lives, whether it’s facing fears, building more time for themselves, or helping them create better habits and boundaries for a healthier life.
